Obituary

Dawn "Smiley" Roulx, a beacon of joy, warmth, and infectious laughter, has peacefully passed away on June 18, 2026 due to heart complications. Known to everyone simply as "Smiley," a nickname earned by a smile that could brighten the darkest of days, she spent her life ensuring that everyone around her felt deeply loved and cared for. When Dawn entered a room, her booming laugh and bright energy filled it entirely.

Dawn was born on February 2, 1957 and resided in Warren, New Hampshire for most of her life. She was a woman of many passions and found immense joy in the simple things. She was an avid fan of Bingo, loved casting a line while fishing, and cherished nights spent camping under the stars. Her creative spirit knew no bounds. She was incredibly skilled at crocheting and knitting, and she could master just about any craft imaginable. Dawn also possessed a colorful love for clowns, a keen eye for a good bargain at yard sales and penny sales, and she always held out hope for the big win while playing the lottery. She followed Chaos and Kindness religiously. She admired the way they inspired the good in people and brought joy to many.

Before her well-deserved retirement, she was a dedicated and beloved member of the staff at the Glencliff Nursing Home, where her caring nature touched the lives of residents and coworkers alike.

Dawn was reunited in peace with those who went before her, including her beloved parents, Oscar and Mable Roulx; her sister, Floret Smith (mother to Glen, Reese, and Travis); and her sister, Germaine Miller (mother to Judy, David, Jody, and Tammy).

Her legacy of love lives on through her devoted family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Norman Roulx of Warren, NH, and sister, Sandra Mackey of Weare, NH mother to Joy Martineau, Crystal Barnes, and Nicole Mackey. She also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews, as well as their children, all of whom adored her. Her extended family, a wide circle of friends, including her dearest friend, Mary Rugar, and her former colleagues and friends at the Glencliff Nursing Home.

Dawn's family will forever cherish the handmade crafts, the memories of her vibrant laughter, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her smile may have left this world, but the warmth it created will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
