GILMANTON---David C. Hayes, (76) passed away on August 1, 2018 after a period of failing health, with his family members at his side and those with him in spirit who could not be there.
David was born on March 9, 1942 in Waterbury, CT the son of William F. Hayes.
David joined the United States Marine Corp in July of 1960 until June of 1964. After serving his country he moved to NH in 1968, working for New England Telephone, retiring from NYNEX in 1995.
He lived in Meredith for 30 years and Colebrook, NH for 12 years, where he enjoyed his retirement, hunting, fishing and camping.
David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Christine Hayes, his daughter, Tracey Alfano and her husband Steve of East Hampton, CT. His sons, Eric Hayes of Kennewick, WA, Shane Hayes of Meredith, NH, Darin Hayes of Chillicothe, OH, Lee Hayes of Laconia, NH and seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father and two brothers; Robert F. Hayes and John Viola.
