Daniel Zaharias Carignan, 51, of Tuftonboro NH, formerly of Hudson NH, died January 26, 2022.
Born in Lowell, MA on February 8, 1970, he was the son of the late Sotirios Zaharias and the late Lorraine Carignan.
Dan grew up in Dracut MA. He graduated from Lowell Regional Technical High School and Middlesex Community College before graduating from UMASS Lowell.
Successful career in social work including being an executive director of several assisted living facilities. He left the corporate world to start his own successful contracting and handyman company. He had a passion for navigating the Florida Keys and was pursuing his captain's license to become a charter boat captain.
Dan enjoyed spending time at his camp with family and friends. Eventually he built onto the camp to make it into a home with the help of his wife, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, Elise and Richard Castellano of Hudson, NH, in Tuftonboro NH. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, trying new restaurants, wineries, and breweries; living life the fullest, cooking meals he was so proud of, laughing especially making his daughter Emily laugh, shopping to decorate the camp and the newly built barn home, and most of all boating on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Dan is survived by his wife, Susan Carignan of Tuftonboro, NH, his daughter, Emily Carignan and her partner Nick Fisher, his grandson, Knoxx Fisher all of Hudson NH, his sisters, Eileen Frechette and her partner Barry Merrill of Hudson NH, Elaine Miller and her husband Roger of Mexico ME, Maria Antal and her husband Steve of Merrimack NH, Tina Guarracino and her husband Jack of Woburn MA, Valerie Walsh and her husband Jim of Lowell MA, his brother: Bob Carignan and his wife Priscilla Mukuba of Lowell MA, many, many nieces, and nephews.
A private Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022.
