Constance Pauline Smith

February 17, 1945 — August 23, 2025

MEREDITH --- It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Constance “Connie” Pauline (Berube) Smith, 80, who left us peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Ellenton, FL, with her family by her side. Born on February 17, 1945, in Lewiston, ME, Constance lived a life full of love and kindness.

Connie moved to Meredith in 1975 where she resided for over 30 years. After she finished working, she retired to Colony Cove where she was known for her beautiful white hair with the prettiest curls and her hilarious sense of humor.

Connie worked as a Press Operator with Fruedenburg NOK. She was committed to her community as an active member of the Hobby Club and a dedicated volunteer at Cabrini’s Thrift Store. Connie’s love for water aerobics, weekly bingo games, and being a part of the "Donut Staff" at gatherings showcased her energetic and sociable nature.

Connie cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Larry Smith; children, Doreen Hawkins and husband Fred, Tony Smith and fiancée Michelle Morin, Laurie Dustin and husband Darren, and Pamela Greene; her adoring grandchildren, Eddie Hawkins, Cassandra Steinkrauss, Todd Smith, Nicole Smith, Kevin Marsh, Stephanie Marsh, Amanda Mallernee, Dana Dustin, Aaron Marsh, Cody Smith, and Alex Greene; sister, Simonne Lavoie; brother, Ronald Berube and his wife Doris; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Louie Berube, her mother Rita (Girard) Berube, and grandson, Tyler Dustin.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo, 300 NH Rt. 25, Meredith, NH. Burial will follow the Mass at Oakland Cemetery, Meredith, NH.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude, a charity that held a special place in Contance's heart.

Arrangements are under the care of Mayhew Funeral Homes and Crematorium. Friends and family are invited to sign the online book of memories at mayhewfuneralhomes.com.
