Clyde Wayne Schofield, 62, of Tie Street, Campton, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, after a brief illness, at his home, surrounded by his loving friends and family.Born in Springfield, VT, on April 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Hilda E. (Page) Schofield. Clyde was raised in Charlestown, NH and attended schools there.A 30 year veteran of the US Army, he was 17 when he enlisted. Clyde served with honor in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, traveling the world extensively as he was stationed in 31 countries throughout his military career.Clyde was an avid fisherman, and very much enjoyed working the range as a cowboy in Montana. He was a resident of the Plymouth/Campton area for 16 years.Clyde was predeceased by his beloved wife of nine years, Ann (Friburg), in July, 2009, and his brother, Ralph W. Schofield, Jr.He is survived by his two children, daughter Cassandra Dodge and husband Andrew, of Tennessee, and son Ralph Schofield, of Claremont, NH; six sisters, Inez Coombs and husband Bill, of Tampa, FL, Jeannie Esh, of Union City, PA, Patricia Bridge , of Mesa, AZ, Ruthie Troyer and husband Keith, of Wakarusa, IN, Pam Beamon and husband Bill, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Eileen McComb and husband Jim, of Williston, FL; a brother, Daniel Page and wife Beverly, of Cowpen, SC; six grandchildren, Bethany, Ciara and Morgan Dodge, Jonah Dickerson, Savannah Schofield, and Michael Buckland; one great-granddaughter, Riley Dodge, and many nieces and nephews.Memorials:In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clyde's memory to the Charlestown Memorial VFW Post 8497, Charlestown, NH.Service:A memorial service will be held at Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth, on Monday, November 1, 2010, at 11:00 am.Cemetery:Interment will be private.
