Charlotte Hope Turner

September 8, 1928 — August 11, 2015

Charlotte Hope Randall Turner, 86, died peacefully August 11, 2015, at Golden View Health Care Center, Meredith, NH, after a long decline in health.

Born in Castle Hill on September 8, 1928, the second eldest of eight children of Ellery Randall and Opal Sinclair Randall, she grew up in Castle Hill and graduated from Mapleton High School, Class of 1946. She lived nearly all her married life in Mapleton before moving to Ashland, NH in 2009.

Charlotte is predeceased by her beloved husband, Earl Forrest Turner; four brothers, Earlen Randall, Wendell Randall, Stanley Vaughn Randall, and Peter Randall; and two sisters, Elizabeth Williams and Lois Ostrowski.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Linda T. Zahka, and husband Alan, of Holderness, NH; her son, Bruce E. Turner, and wife Rosanne, of Palmer, MA; her sister, Gail Carlson, of Presque Isle; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout New England and some beyond.

Charlotte loved the outdoors, whether working or playing. For years her flower gardens beautified their Chapman St. neighborhood. She assisted her husband in rigorous activities, such as building their home, car repair, even harvesting firewood. They belonged to the Squam Pan Outing Club and she spent many happy hours at that lake swimming, boating, ice fishing, and skating. She even was "wingman" when Earl plowed the access road in winter. Together they also enjoyed camping/fishing weekends in the Maine wilderness and snowmobiling.

Charlotte was for many years a member of the Presque Isle Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
