Dr. Charles W. Lamontagne, 83, a long time resident of Wentworth, NH and most recently of Campton, NH passed away March 14, 2011 peacefully at his home with family by his side. He was born June 27, 1927 in Newburyport, MA. He was preceded in death by his son Charles and daughter Elizabeth, his parents, two sisters and two brothers. Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Christine Lamontagne; his children Christopher Lamontagne and wife Lu Anne, Lee Lamontagne and wife Christine, Michele (Lamontagne) Aguiar and husband Kenneth, Sean Lamontagne and wife Cindy, and Kara Lamontagne and husband Paul Robdau. Charles has 10 grandchildren: Brian, Michael, Steven, Monique, Hilary, Samantha, Eric, Lucas, Caleb and Alison. Charles was a doctoral graduate of Boston University and spent his career in education as a teacher, principal and superintendent in the public schools of both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Since his retirement, he has enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid skier and golfer, as well as a talented artist and musician, occupying much of his time entertaining others and creating artwork enjoyed by many. His intelligence, warm smile and quick wit will be dearly missed.Visitation:Calling hours will be held on Thursday, 6pm to 8pm at the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St. Plymouth. Service:A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Trinity Parish, St. Matthews Church in Plymouth on Friday at 11am. The Rev. Leo LeBlanc, pastor, will be the celebrant. Cemetery:Spring burial service will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
