Charles Stewart Hobart

August 3, 1920 — January 16, 2013

Charles Stewart Hobart, 92, of Chester Road, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2013, in Goffstown, NH.

Born in Plymouth, NH on August 3, 1920, he was the son of Marshall and Lucette (Pike) Hobart. He grew up in Bow and Concord area and resided in Plymouth for many years. He moved to the Manchester area in the late 1950's and has resided in Auburn for the last thirty years.

Charles worked for many years as a log truck driver for R.S. Audley Construction, in Bow and he also worked for ten years for the State of NH, Youth Development Center, until his retirement.

Charles was a World War II US Army Veteran and served in Company C 96th Signal Battalion, in Burma, India.

Charles was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and he also loved to go bowling.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Smith and his son, Alvin "Sonny" Hobart.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of seventy-three years, Anna R. (Willoughby) Hobart of Epsom, his daughters, Edith Littlefield and her husband Joe of Campton, Barbara Tack and her husband Robert of Epsom, many grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St, Plymouth, on Tuesday at 11am. The Rev. Edward J. Charest, pastor of the Plymouth United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery, Campton.
