OBITUARY DEPARTMENTDATELINE: Meredith, NH. Charles William "Bill" H. Lowth, Jr. 80 of Meredith and Naples, Florida died Thursday July 30 at Golden View Home in Meredith after a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and resided in many places in the United States and Canada before moving to Meredith in 1962. He retired in 1993 as President and founder of Charwill Construction of Meredith. He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and the community. He was active in numerous community organizations, including: member and past officer of the MT. Chocorua Lodge of Masons F&AM #83, the Meredith Rotary Club, Gunstock Ski Area Commissioner, Inter-Lakes School Board Chairman, and Meredith Public Library Trustee. He was appointed by then Governor, John Sununu, as a New Hampshire State Certified Arbitrator. Members of the family include his sister Jean Watkins of Houston TX; sons, Charles "Chuck" William H. Lowth III of Meredith; Wally Lowth of Arcade NY; and daughter Susan Fox of North Hills CA; grandchildren Charles William H. "Hayes" Lowth IV; Ramsey Freiland of Port Royal VA; Ellen Sopic of Buffalo NY; Dylan Hawley of Sidney NE; Bill Lowth of Buffalo NY; as well as nieces and great grandchildren. Visitation:Calling hours will be held at Mayhew Funeral Home, routes #3 and #104, Meredith on Tuesday August 4 from 6-8 pmService:A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday August 5 beginning at 11 am, followed by a reception for family and friends at Hart"s Restaurant in Meredith.Cemetery:Burial will be held in the Meredith Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
