Alexandria, NH --- Carolyn Lee Tucker, 83, passed away peacefully and comfortably at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon NH on January 19, 2025, after a brief illness. She spent her last days surrounded by family and so much love.
Carolyn was born on January 14, 1942, the daughter of Clarence and Irene (Estella) Whitten.
Carolyn was born in Nashua NH where she lived until her dad passed away when she was 7, she then moved to Merrimack NH. Carolyn was always incredibly selfless and had a huge heart of gold. She also had the ability to keep a smile on her face even through the toughest times. From a young age, the caretaking role always came naturally to her, especially with her little brother Ricky. She continued that role her whole life with everyone she encountered.
While in school she met and fell in love with her husband and best friend, Bruce Tucker. They married on August 10, 1957, and would go on to spend the next 68 years building their life together. They settled in Merrimack NH where they welcomed and raised two sons, Bruce Jr and Brent. They soon became Nana and Papa to 4 grandchildren, followed by 10 great grandchildren and they made countless memories together along the way. Their love was truly one of a kind.
In her earlier years Carolyn spent time babysitting children, telling the families to just “pay what you can”. She was also employed at Doehla Greetings. She then spent many years working at Brockway Plastics before retiring and moving to Alexandria NH with her husband to be closer to their family.
She had a passion for sewing, taking endless pictures and flowers. She enjoyed spending many days cooking and had a love for watching QVC. Some of her fondest memories were at their camp in Pittsburg where they spent much of their time there with friends and family. She also enjoyed going for long drives, especially with their dog Junior. In more recent years her and Bruce spent time taking many day trips to Maine.
Carolyn was the heart and soul of her family; they were her whole world and to them she was everything. She always put her family before herself, showing up for any one of them whenever needed. Although Carolyn adored everyone in her life, she had the biggest soft spot for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She absolutely adored being a Nana.
She was the type of person that would welcome anyone into her home without hesitation for a hot cup of coffee or a home cooked meal. She would very quickly make you feel like you were part of her family.
Her kindness was truly contagious and to know her was to love her. The hole she leaves behind is immense, but her memory and love will always be remembered and will live on in everyone she came across in her life.
She is predeceased by her Parents Clarence and Irene Whitten, her sister Shirley Jolly, her nephew Shawn Follansbee, and her step grandson Garett Doe.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bruce Tucker, their two sons, Bruce Tucker JR and wife Lynn of Wentworth NH & Brent Tucker and wife Ute of Canaan NH, her brother Richard Follansbee of Virginia, her cousin Sally Cipolla of Virginia, her granddaughter Amanda Fontaine and husband Bryan of Hollis NH, grandson Kyle Tucker of Alexandria NH, granddaughter Allison Morrison and Husband Joe of Bridgewater NH , grandson Eric Tucker of Danbury NH, step granddaughter Tabitha Doe of Enfield, and Great Grandchildren Joey, Tucker, Blake, and Kinsleigh Morrison, Samantha, Evelynn, Molly, Heidi, and Charlotte Fontaine, Bennitt Tucker and many more extended family and lifelong friends.
