It is with greatest love and sadness we announce and mourn the passing of Carol Meyers 71 of Thornton NH on Tuesday October 19, 2021. After a brief battle of lung cancer, she succumbed to her illness and passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Lowell MA on June 3, 1950, she was the daughter of Bennett and Thelma Lawson.
After spending a couple of years in her father's hometown the family moved back to Mad River Road in Thornton. Being raised on Mad River Road Carol was one of the "locals".
She will always be remembered for her love of animals and always had many family pets.
She would always love them not as an animal but as part of the family and would always sign their names as well as her own on cards for family birthdays or holidays. One of her fondest childhood memories was going up to Anderson Hill and riding the horses. She always made sure to stop and visit all the other animals there before returning home.
Carol had the kindest, most generous spirit. Anyone who knew her was truly grateful for her friendship and her love.
Carol moved back to the family home to care for her parents. She remained there after their passing. The family home became the hub for Holidays as she loved being surrounded by family on these special occasions. Halloween was her favorite. She took such delight in seeing the trick or treaters coming up the front porch all dressed in their costumes and would talk about it for days.
She will be greatly missed.
Carol is survived by her husband Gary Meyers and her daughters, Sherry Connolly and her husband Joe, Lori Pieczarka and her husband Jody and Tina Newcomb and her husband Tommy. Her sister Barbra Watson, her nephew Kevin Shortt and family, and niece Jamie Heald and family.
Her grandchildren, Ashley Zachary, Emily Torsey and husband Jason, Steven Zachary, Crystal and Michelle Elliot. Along with 7 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in Blair Cemetery on Tuesday, Oct.26th, at 10am. The Rev. Christopher Drew will officiate. Family and friends are welcome.
