Carol Ann Foley, 65, of Holderness, NH. peacefully passed away, having spent the day with her family, on August 27, 2018 at the Jack Byrne Hospice Center, Lebanon, NH, following a yearlong battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 10, 1953, she was the daughter of Jeremiah and Marguerite Sheehan.
Carol grew up in the Boston area and graduated from Roslindale High School and from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. Dedicated to Science, she continued her education with numerous graduate degrees and certificate from the University of Connecticut, and the University of New Hampshire. Moving back to New Hampshire in 1978, she has been a resident of Holderness since 1996.
Carol taught, from many years, in New Hampshire elementary schools including; Waterville Valley, Rumney, Wolfeboro, Nashua, Londonderry and last in Alton.
Carol has dedicated her life to environmental science, the Audubon Society and the Squam Lakes Science Center, in Holderness, NH. Her love for family, children and education were the pillars of her life. Carol's smile and wisdom made the life of her students, co-workers and so many others better; her ability to favorably influence all she came in contact with, was well known. Carol loved taking photos, traveling, musicals, and crafts; all of which complimented her four pillars.
Carol is survived by her husband of Forty-three years, Jack F. Foley of Holderness, her beloved daughter, Kalinda Foley and her wife Angie LaPoint of Campton, her nieces and a nephew.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Kirkwood Garden, 23 Science Center Road, Holderness, NH, on Monday, Sept. 3rd, from 1pm to 4pm. A private graveside service will be held in the Blair Cemetery.
