Bruce Alan Downing

Bruce Alan Downing, 60, of Anderson Hill Road, died suddenly August 11, 2009, at is home.      Born in Plymouth on March 23, 1949, he was the son of Lawrence E. and Mary Ann [Anderson] Downing.     Bruce grew up in Thornton and reisded on Anderson Hill most all his life.  He graduated from Plymouth High School, class of 1969.  He attended Cook School in Berlin and he had resided in Portsmouth for a short time.     Bruce worked primarly as a muscian and a writer most all his life.     He had a love of the out of doors and a heart that could not be measured.     He is survived by his brother, Larry J. Downing, of Thornton, sisters, Priscilla M. MacKinnon of Thornton, Diane L. Downing of Holderness, Mary Ellen Downing of Meredith, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.Memorials:In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruce A. Downing Memorial Music and Arts Fund, C/O Meredith Village Savings Bank, Meredith, NH. 03253.  Service: A graveside service will be held in the Mad River Cemetery, Thornton, on Sunday at 1:30pm.  The Rev. Sidney Lovett will officiate.
