Betty Dunstan, aged 84, of Thornton, NH, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024 in Brentwood, NH. Betty was born in Darnley, Prince Edward Island, Canada, to Henry and Charlotte Peters, before later moving to New Brunswick, Canada. It was in New Brunswick where she met and married her husband, James (Jim) Dunstan, on October 1, 1960. Betty and Jim moved to New Hampshire and began their family there, ultimately having four children, three grandchildren, and one very long, happy life.
Betty thoroughly enjoyed spending her weekends traveling with Jim in their RV to bluegrass festivals. Betty loved to sing with friends while Jim played the guitar. She also loved nature and going on daily walks - she could always be spotted wandering around Thornton and took great pride in the fact that her "Chevrolegs" could outpace all three of her grandkids.
Betty was a warm and kind soul who never hesitated to open her arms and her home to anyone in need. Her giving heart and capacity for love were unrivalled, and her generous spirit will never be forgotten.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, James (Jim) Dunstan, who passed away in Thornton, NH on June 30, 2022. She was also predeceased by three of her brothers: Earl Peters of Nova Scotia and Ernest, Harry, and Everett Peters, all of New Brunswick.
Betty is survived by her four children Charlotte Dunstan of Franklin, NH, James (Jimmy) Dunstan of Las Vegas, NV, Craig Dunstan of Thornton, NH, and Owen Dunstan, of Thornton, NH; her three grandchildren Courtney Harnish of Franklin, NH, Jordan Harnish of Laconia, NH, and Montana Dunstan of Laconia, NH; her three siblings Ralph (and wife Shirley) Peters, Helen (and husband Harold) Lewis, and Bertha (and husband Tim) Esty, all of New Brunswick.
