Bertha Louise Duncklee, 89, formerly of Rumney, died on May 16, 2022, at the Grafton County Nursing home in N. Haverhill, NH.
Born in Ellsworth, NH. on March 25, 1933, she was the daughter of Allie E. and Stella Frances (Kenneson) Batchelder.
Bertha grew up in Ellsworth and moved to Rumney in 1955. She has been a resident in N. Haverhill for the past six years. Bertha graduated from the Campton Elementary School and Plymouth High School, class of 1950.
Bertha worked in the offices for several different companies over the years, including the former Crutch Mill, in Rumney, United Shank Mill, the Merrimack Farmers Exchange, both in Plymouth and in the plaining room at Precision Lumber, in Wentworth, until her retirement in 1996. After her retirement, she stayed home to take care of her ailing husband and mother.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Duncklee, her brothers, Sterle, Stanley. Arnold, Ralph, her sisters-in-laws, Natalie Batchelder, Lucille Batchelder and Theresa Batchelder.
Bertha loved nature and enjoyed the birds, especially chick-a-dee. Bertha was a very kind and loving person to family and friends. She will be miss by many.
A graveside service will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth, on Tuesday, May 24th, at 2pm. The Rev. Christopher Drew will officiate.
