NEW HAMPTON---Bernard (Jerry) Littlefield, Best friend and beloved husband of Linda Cook Littlefield. Passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2016.
Jerry was born on April 2, 1943 in Rochester, New Hampshire the son of Edward and Phyllis (Cress) Littlefield, and later moved to Braintree, Massachusetts and then to Rockland, Massachusetts, where he graduated from high school in 1962. After high school Jerry enlisted into the United States Navy, serving as a Quarter Master based out of Norfolk, Virginia. Jerry and Linda met in 1966 and he later married the love of his life in 1969. Soon after that he began his 30-year career with Otis Elevator Company.
He was a 20 year Webelo leader with the Abington, Massachusetts, Cub Scouts, very active with the Abington Jaycees, Abington First Baptist Church and served on many committees for over 20 years. He retired from the Otis Elevator Company in 1998 and he and Linda moved to Moultonborough, New Hampshire where he became a New Hampshire Marine Patrol Water Safety Officer and boating Education Instructor, during the next 15 summers, and working as an Aubuchon Hardware employee during the off seasons, as well as volunteering for many years at the Ossipee Concerned Citizens Senior Center.
Other fun part-time jobs he enjoyed included; White Lake State Park, White Ledge Campground; Indian Mound Hardware Store; and a commercial cleaning position as well as a Lake Patrol Officer for Maine's Keysar lake.
He had a great love for the outdoors including camping, boating, fishing, hiking, photography and traveling throughout New England.
Jerry would like to give a final "shout out" to his vintage campers and Mickey D group.
The family moved to Ossipee, New Hampshire in 2005 and he became active in the First Christian Church of Freedom. They made a final move to New Hampton in 2015, and were warmly welcomed into the family of believers of the New Hampton Community Church. His other family became his friends and neighbors at Mansfield Woods Way, the 55 and older community in New Hampton. "Jerry" just wanted to be remembered as a loving husband, a good father, sincere friend and faithful Christian.
Jerry was the father of William and his wife Jennifer of Spring Lake, North Carolina, and Scott and his wife Deirdre of Abington, Massachusetts and loving Papa to grandsons, Steven, Ryan, Dillon and Patrick.
He was the brother to Kenneth of Florida, David, Carole and Patricia of New Hampshire. He will be missed by many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews as well as friends, neighbors and fellow Christians.
There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Friday September 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D.W. Highway Boscawen, New Hampshire 03303.
