Bennett C. Lawson, 91, of Thornton, New Hampshire passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday May 3, 2015.
He was born on May 26, 1923 in Lowell, Massachusetts the son of George and Daisy Lawson (Clarke). He married his loving wife Thelma in 1949, moving from Lowell to Thornton In 1952. Bennett was a hard working man and strong provider for his wife and two children Carol and Barbara, while working at BB River manufacturing as a driller. After many years, he retired and to work for Blackburn painting and later as a custodian at the Campton Elementary School. During this time he was active as a volunteer fire fighter with the Campton Fire Department. He kept busy by also working at the Campton Camp Ground.
He loved watching the New England Patriots and boxing. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and a lot fishing as well as tending to his vegetable garden. His pride was caring for his lawn. When he was relaxing his time was spent sitting on his porch watching the birds, especially on hot sunny days with his "red" hot coffee.
He is survived by his wife; Thelma, his two children; Carol Meyers and her husband Gary, Barbara Watson and her husband Robert, one sister; Verna Lemire, of North Billerica, Massachusetts, his 5 grand children; Sherry, Lori, Tina, Jamie, and Kevin, 9 great grand children; Crystal, Michelle, Ashley, Emily, Steven, Corie, Danielle, Dillon and Aiden.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers; Les, Don, Eddie, Ralph and Russell.
