Barbara Ann Putnam

Barbara Ann Putnam, 88, of Moultonborough, died suddenly February 21, 2018 at Lakes Region General Hospital, in Laconia, NH.

Born in Salem, MA. on November 5, 1929, she was the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Kelleher) Morris.

Barbara grew up in Salem and graduated from St. James Grammar School and High School. She also attended Vesper George Arts School, in Boston and graduated from Salem State College, in Salem. She resided in Massachusetts for many years and summered, with her parents, in the Lakes Region since the 1940's. She moved to Moultonborough, permanently, in 1992.

In her early years, Barbara worked for the New England Telephone Yellow Pages as a staff artist. She taught for over ten years at Veterans Memorial High School, in Peabody, MA., as a Special Education teacher.

Barbara was a communicant of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, in Meredith. She also served for several years as a trustee for the Moultonborough Public Library.

Barbara was predeceased by her brothers, John and Joseph Morris.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Roy P. Putnam of Moultonborough, her daughter, Alice M. Putnam of Moultonborough, her sons, Richard W. Putnam of Moultonborough, John J. Putnam of Littleton, MA., Philip K. Putnam of Ipswich, MA., three grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca and Sean, and her nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 300 NH Route 25, Meredith, on Thursday at 10am. Spring burial will be held in the Shannon Cemetery, Moultonborough.
