Barbara May McGee, 91, of Thornton, died December 27, 2018 at Speare Memorial Hospital, in Plymouth, NH.
Born in Woodstock, NH on July 12, 1926, she was the daughter of Ora and Abbie (Fortune) Downing.
Barbara grew up in the Woodstock area and graduated from Lincoln High School. She resided in Woodstock until 1946, when she moved to Thornton.
Barbara worked as a manager of the former Howard Johnson Restaurant, in Thornton, for over twenty-five years as an assembler at the former Miller Shoe Tree, in Plymouth and for many years she worked at the McDonalds Restaurant in Lincoln, until her retirement in 2001. She also sold Avon products in the Pemi-Baker Valley for over twenty years.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Robert Howard McGee, who died in November of 2015.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sharon B. Avery of Thornton, grandsons, Corey Avery of Thornton, Ryan Avery of West Campton, great grandchildren, Noah and Abigail.
Graveside services will be held in the Spring in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Thornton, NH. on Saturday, April 28th at 2pm.
