Ardelle Mabel "June" (Day) Stevens, 86, of Rumney passed away on April 25, 2016, at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 7, 1929, in Woodsville, NH. She was the daughter of the late Wava (Arsenault) and Harold E. Day Sr.
June was the Matriarch of her family. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling but above all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
June is survived by her husband of 68 years, John N. Stevens; two loving daughters, Donna E. Shepherd of Belmont, NH, and Jeanea E. LeMoine of Rockingham, NC; three grandchildren, Kimberlee Dearborn of Laconia, NH, Sandra Shepherd of Manchester, NH, and Kent Shepherd III, U.S. Army, stationed in Hawaii; four great-grandchildren, James Dearborn, Zachary Dearborn, Elizabeth Shepherd and Kent Shepherd IV; three sisters, Barbara Gray of Nichols, SC, Gail Williams of North Stratford, NH, and Dawn Whyte of Oakmont, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Audrey Pitts, and two brothers, Charles E. Day and Harold E. Day Jr.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
