Annelle Julia Gnerre

Annelle Julia Gnerre, 78 of Parade Road, died peacefully Oct. 15, 2015 at her daughter'shome in Meredith, NH , after a brief illness.

Annelle was born May 12, 1937 in Quincy, IL to the late Josephine Boyd McCubbins Sims and John Medill McCubbins and was later adopted by the late John Sims.

As a high school student in Lake Charles, LA, Annelle became a football cheerleader-a Kiltie-and continued her cheering career in college at McNeese State College where she met her husband, Joe. Her love for the game of football never waned. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She won the Bourgeois League Fantasy Football championship in 2014.

Annelle spent 20 years with the Law Office of Wholey and Pelech in Portsmouth, NH while raising her family in York Harbor, ME. Her work ethic inspired her children. When her daughters had children, she was always available to help, especially over the past 12 years with her grandson, Hayden.

Annelle, affectionately known as "Mama G," owned Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Ristorante in Meredith, NH along with her daughter and son-in-law. For nearly 30 years, starting at Giuseppe's in Ogunquit, ME, she shared her infectious humor, positive outlook and love of music and musicians with employees and customers-many of whom became dear friends.

Annelle was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Joseph T. Gnerre, Sr. in 1995. Annelle was proud of the establishment in his memory of the JTG Music Memorial Extravaganza that annually provides scholarships for college bound students from the Lakes Region pursing degrees in music-related fields.

Annelle leaves her children, Sarah Gnerre and husband Chris Mulligan of Portsmouth, NH; Joe Thomas Gnerre and wife Memory of Gloucester, MA; Julie Gnerre-Bourgeois and husband Michael Bourgeois of Meredith, NH; Charles Gnerre of Austin, TX; grandchildren Eramus Tilley and wife Caitlin; and Hayden Joseph Bourgeois, Anna and Claire Sampson and great-grandson Asher Tilley. She also leaves brothers-in-law C. Gerald Gnerre of Belmont, MA and Anthony Gnerre and wife Roberta of Naples, FL and beloved nephews and nieces Bill Gnerre and wife Tama; Jerry Gnerre and wife Brenda, Steve Gnerre and wife Carrie, Dan Gnerre, Cathy Pederson, Gina Lunardo, Donna Dillree, Maria Gnerre and Ronnie Fronduto and many beloved cousins, great nieces and nephews.

She leaves many friends from Lake Charles (LA) High School, her Giuseppe's Restaurant family and cousins from Illinois and throughout the country.
