Andre Paul Decarie, 63, of Campton, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 after a long illness.Born in Montreal, Canada on November 10, 1945, he was the son of Roland and Della [Paul] Decarie.Andre moved from Montreal to Miami, FL at the age of 10, where he remained for the rest of his childhood. After graduating from the University of Miami in 1967, he married his wife Sandra [Anderson] Decarie in 1968.His 40-year career in medical sales took him and his family to many locations along the eastern seaboard, including Georgia, Vermont and Connecticut. After his retirement in 2007, Andre and Sandra settled in Campton. Andre's diverse interests spanned from the sea to the mountains. During his youth in Florida, he became very active in the then-new sport of Scuba diving. In later years he became a certified rescue diver. In the late 1960's and early 1970's, Andre became active in auto racing, competing in rally and Formula car events. He was an avid skier for much of his life and skied at many locales in North America and Europe. An accomplished photographer, Andre traveled the world from China to Russia capturing the beauty of local cultures and landscapes. He was also a dog lover, and had many faithful, 4-legged companions throughout the years.In addition to Sandra, Andre is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel P. and Jasmine C. Decarie, and his grandson, Ian of Sudbury, MA, his daughter, Linette A. Decarie of Braintree, MA, his nieces and nephew, and many wonderful friends.
