Amanda Grace Johnston, 20, of Thornton, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Dartmouth - Hitchcock Medical Center after a battle with brain cancer.
Born on August 13, 1993 in Plymouth, NH, she was the beloved daughter of Duane and Wendy (Carrier) Johnston. Amanda attended the Thornton Central School and graduated from Plymouth Regional High School, Class of 2011. She then went on to attend Thomas College and Plymouth State University.
Amanda enjoyed reading, country music, snowmobiling, and hanging around with her friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, and friend to many and will be dearly missed by those whose lives she's touched.
Amanda is survived by her parents, Duane and Wendy Johnston, of Thornton; sister, Heather Johnston, of Thornton; grandparents, Ramona Carrier, of Campton, Ted and Betty Johnston, of Thornton; several extended family members, Tim Carrier, Larry Carrier and family, Mark Johnston and family, Alan Johnston and family, Dean Johnston and family, as well as many other special aunts, uncles, and cousins. Amanda is also survived by many close and special friends throughout the area.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Johnston Family Benefit Fund C/O Community Guaranty Savings Bank, 28 Main Street, Plymouth, NH 03264. The monies received will be distributed by the family to several area cancer charities that have helped them throughout Amanda's illness.
