Campton, NH.-Alice Sophia Stickney, 93, of Stickney Road, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2016, at her home, after a lengthy illness.
Born in So. Thomaston, ME, she was the daughter of Scott and Ada (Thompson) Rackliff. She graduated from schools in So. Thomaston and Rockland, ME. She married Morgan A. Stickney Sr. on January 1, 1942, in So. Thomaston and has resided at the Stickney Homestead, Campton, since 1944.
Alice was a lifelong member of the Campton Congregational Church and the Ladies Guild, as well as serving as a Trustee of the Campton Public Library for many years.
Alice was predeceased by her husband of Forty-nine years, Morgan Andrew Stickney Sr, who died on February 27, 1991, her brothers, Charles, Earl, Ernest, and Carroll Rackliff and her sisters, Dorothy Lortie and Constance Menges.
Alice is survived by her sons, David A. Stickney, Morgan A. Stickney Jr., Edwin A. Stickney, her daughter, Virginia S. Erickson, all of Campton, her grandchildren, Morgan "Drew" Stickney III, and Carrie Stickney both of Campton, Curtis Stickney of Charlotte, NC., Jamie Stickney of Thornton, NH, Jason Stickney of Dover, NH. her great grandchildren, Kyle, Damian, and Brendan, also many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Campton Congregational Church, 495 NH Route #175, Campton, on Wednesday, Aug 24th, at 11am. The Rev. Russell Petrie, pastor, and the Rev. Cynthia Petrie, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery, Campton.
