Albert B. ("Ab") Carter, 79, of Dorchester, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Born on April 20, 1935, in Plymouth, NH, he was the son of Ernest and Arlene (Barnett) Carter. Ab was raised in Dorchester and attended the old Dorchester one room Schoolhouse.
Ab was a self employed logger operating the "Carter Brothers Logging Service" with his brother Richard for over 40 years. In his life Ab was a talented gardener who enjoyed outdoor activites such as fishing and hunting. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and liked NASCAR.
Ab was a hardworking and honorable man in both his professional and personal life; he is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Peggy Mae (Hammel) Carter, of Dorchester; three children, Sharon Evans and husband David, of Wentworth, Michael Carter and wife Erin, of Thornton, Candy Lizotte, of Epping; his brother, Richard P. Carter, of Dorchester; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the area.
Interment will be held at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Rumney, and will be private.
