Obituary for Maria "Issy" Isabell Medeiros-Araujo (De Mederosa)

Maria Isabell “_Issy” Medeiros-Araujo, 64, of Lincoln, NH., died February 19, 2022, at Speare memorial Hospital, in Plymouth, after a long illness.

Born in Lomba De Maia, Portugal, on February 7, 1958, she was the daughter of Messias De Mederosa and Simeira (Pereira) Medeiros.

Issy attended Somerville High School in Somerville, MA. She resided in the Woodstock/Lincoln area for the past 35 years, where she and her sister, Maria Smith, owned and operated Notchview Country Kitchen in Lincoln, NH.

Issy was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church also in Lincoln. She had an infectious sense of humor, enjoyed word games such as Scrabble and Words with Friends, and loved desserts.

Issy is survived by her daughter Stephanie Rose of Ashland, NH, step-daughters Darlene Pina of New Bedford, MA, Sheree Araujo-Williams of Richmond, VA, Tina Jones of Dumfries, VA, step-son Norman A. Araujo Jr. of New Bedford, MA, sisters Diane Roche of Revere, MA, Susan MacDonald of Penacook, NH, brother Messias Manuel Medeiros of Punta Delgado, San Miguel, Portugal, grandchildren Brooklyn Rose of Ashland, NH, Thea Burke of Ashland, NH, Kailynn Lumpkin of Richmond, VA, Kellen Francis of Richmond, VA, Darius Delgados of Dumfries, VA, Blake Delgados of Norfolk, VA, Keri Lynn Branquinho of Dartmouth, MA, and three great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth, on Monday, Feb. 28th, from 2pm to 4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 19th, at 11am in Saint Joseph’s Church, Church St., Lincoln, NH. The Rev. John Mahoney, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln.
