I am sending my condolences along To May and all of Charlie's family. I served alongside of Charlie from January of 1970 until the middle of 1972. We shared work and play and some valuable lessons during this time. I think we taught each other how to survive in a compacted and populous area for weeks on end. We saw some extremely great sunrises and sunsets while standing watch. And the Liberty ports were awesome also. :-) After Charlie got out of the Navy, we just lost touch with each other. My wife and I joined Charlie and May in Portland, Oregon near my home town, a few years ago. It was a Ships reunion, and it was like we had been separated for a weekend. The old gang was back together again. Telling jokes and lies about each other and remembering the memories of a bygone lifetime. We shared another ship's reunion with Charlie and May the next year in Nashville. Charlie and I are the same age and it is hard to think of him as gone. Gone to a better and more comfortable life. I will miss him because I think of him often. I WILL NOT FORGET CHARLIE.
