John Clifton Bixby, 78, of Rumney, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, Tilton, NH. He was surrounded by his children and family.

John was born in Plymouth, NH on July 10, 1935 to Leroy Clifton Bixby and Eva Monroe Bixby. John grew up in New Hampshire, attending schools in Rumney and Plymouth after which he went into the Air Force and worked as an airplane mechanic. After he left the military he traveled extensively, he had been in every state in the United States except Alaska and South Dakota. He returned to Rumney, NH where he bought a logging truck and logged for a while, after that he was employed at Kelly's Auto Body for 44 years before he retired.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he was a gifted musician who played many instruments, he loved his family and the many get togethers they had over the years. He loved to watch Nascar races. He also enjoyed riding the many Harley Davidson's he had owned over the years.

John is predeceased by his parents, brother, James Bixby and his wife Marcia (MacDonald) Bixby.

He is survived by his children, Melody Bixby Wendell, Rumney, NH, Rebecca Bixby Gelsi, Orford, NH, Leroy Clifton Bixby, New Hampton, NH, Brothers: Charles Bixby, Rumney, NH, Richard Bixby, Bristol, NH, Ernest Bixby, Sioux Falls, SD. sister: Annette Flanders, Rumney, NH. Grandchildren: Brenton Eastman, Orford, NH, Jonathan Eastman, Rumney, NH, George Wendell V, Rumney, NH, John Bixby II, New Hampton, Rachel Bixby, New Hampton, Great Grandaughter: Rihanna Eastman.

Calling hours will be held Monday, May 19 from 6 to 8 pm at the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon Street, Plymouth, NH. A graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 20 at 10 am in the Highland Cemetery, Rumney, NH.
