Robert E. Keefe

Robert E Keefe, "Bob"-born Jan 15, 1934- most noted as a wonderful husband and family man~ a Father and Grandfather, died August 10, 2017 at Speare Memorial ZHospital, in Plymouth, NH. Bob was a generous man with a gentle heart. He was the son of Jason and Wilamena Keefe of Billerica, MA. Bob had a fruitful 44 years marriage- survived by his wife, Barbara (Gray) Keefe formerly resided in Westford, MA and most currently Campton, NH. Bob proudly served in the military branch of the United States Airforce during the Korean War, working as a Military Aircraft Mechanic in Newfoundland. Followed by an enriching 25- year career at Raytheon as a Missile Systems Engineer in Lowell, MA where he eventually retired. Additionally, Bob had a fulfilling electronic surveillance system business- Alertron Corporation for 5 years. He was an accomplished Acoustic and Bass Guitar Player, and enjoyed the saxophone as a talented Musician. Bob formed a band called "The Emeralds" and performed together for over 15 years in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In his leisure, you could find Bob skillfully carving and building masterpieces of furniture, clocks, and art canvases for his wife Barbara creating family heirlooms. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the Fletcher Club in Westford, MA and the National Rifleman Association. Bob an endearing father is survived by his 6 children- daughter Cathie Vasel Parker and her husband Bruce of Pepperell, MA, son Bill Vasel and his wife Kathy of Pepperell, MA, daughter Pat Vasel Sanborn and her husband Jim of Thornton, NH, son Steve Keefe and his wife Natalie of Campton, NH, daughter Robin Keefe of AZ and son Bobbie Keefe of AZ. He proudly Grandfathered 8 grandchildren- David Sanborn and his wife Lynn of Holden, NH, James Sanborn Jr and his wife Kerry of Thornton, NH, Greg Sanborn and his wife Ashley of Thornton, NH, Naval Chief Thomas Sanborn and his wife Zoe of Sagamore Beach, MA, Jennifer Sanborn of Thornton, NH, Devon Vasel of Pepperell, MA, Savannah Vasel of Pepperell, MA, Daren Keefe of Campton, NH and 6 step grandchildren Onyx Anderson, Klaryssa MaComber both of Campton, NH, Brian Parker of Pepperell, MA, Brad Parker of Old Lyme CT, Julie Parker of Haverhill, MA, Craig Parker of Hartford, CT. He leaves 10 Great grandchildren - Samantha and Jake Sanborn, Abby and Nolin Sanborn, Mia Morelli and Elle Lyman, and Wesley, Brinley, Wyatt and Daniel Sanborn. Bob was an intelligent man who sadly suffered with a long bought of dementia. He passed quietly with all of his family by his side and they will miss him dearly. Services to celebrate his life will be held at Campton Baptist Church, 1345 Main St, Campton, NH on August 20 at 3 PM.
