Karen E. Stauss

Karen Elizabeth Stauss, 48, of Oak Island Road, died January 9, 2010 at home with her family by her side, after a long courageous battle with cancer.     Born in Framingham, Massachusetts on March 1, 1961, she was the daughter of Edgar and Elizabeth [Teichelmann] Bittle.     She grew up in Framingham and then moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL.  She graduated from Choctawhatchee High School, in Fort Walton Beach, class of 1979 and then from Holy Cross College, in Worcester, MA, with a degree in mathmatics. She resided in Pelham, NH before moving to Meredith, in 2003.     In 1983, she became employed by Raytheon, where she worked as a system engineer.              She was very active member of the First Baptist Church, Meredith, where she participated in the church affairs in many ways included pre-school child care and bible study classes. She was also the assistant cheerleader coach of the Inter Lakes High School Football Cheerleaders.     She is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Wayne M. Stauss of Meredith, daughters, Stephanie Elizabeth Stauss of Gilford, Jennifer Ann Stauss of Meredith, her parents of Fort Walton Beach, FL, brother, Michael L. Bittle of New York City, NY, two nieces. Visitation:     Calling hours will be held at the Mayhew Funeral Home, Routes #3 and #104, Meredith, on Tuesday 5pm to 8pm.  Service:     A funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church, Main St, Meredith, on Wednesday at 11am.  The Rev. Steve Neil, pastor, will officiate.  Cemetery:     Spring burial will be held in the Oakland Cemetery, Meredith Center.
