Edward Wallace Keeney, 90, formerly of Beach Hill Trailer Park, died November 23, 2009, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, in Tilton. Born in Lynn Massachusetts on September 24, 1919, he was the son of Lemuel Waldo and Blanche Evelyn [Davis] Keeney. Edward grew up in Lynn and attended Lynn Schools. He was a resident of Campton from 1945 to 1978 until moving to Plymouth in 1978. He has been a resident of the Veterans Home, Tilton, for the past five years. He worked as a laborer in the Finishing Department at the former Draper Corporation in Beebe River from 1946 to his retirement in 1985. During his retirement, he worked, for ten years, at the Holderness School, Holderness, in the custodial and housekeeping department. Edward was a thirty year member of the Campton Congregational Church, Campton and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Post #4483 and the American legion Post #66, both in Plymouth. Edward was a US Army Air Corps veteran and had served with 99th and 301st bomber group. Edward was predeceased by his wife of forty-nine years, Beverly Alice [Wright] Keeney, who died on November 30, 1998. He is survived by his children, Steve L. Keeney and his wife Barbara of Woodstock, Sandra M. Tobine and husband Frank of Campton, Cindi L. Fletcher and husband Joseph of Plymouth, Nancy M. Keeney and partner Teri Langford of Dallas, TX, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother, Paul A. Keeney of Baldwinville, MA, sister, Helen M. Inkell of Campton, many nieces and nephews. Memorials:In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the NH Veterans Home, 139 Winter St, Tilton, NH. 03276.Service:A funeral Service will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St, Plymouth, on Sunday at 2pm. The Rev. Russell Petrie, pastor of the Campton Congregational Church, will officiate. Cemetery:Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Blair Cemetery, Campton.
